Tadipatri is located at a distance of 60kms from Anantapur on the banks of river Penneru. Tadipatri, also called as Tatiparthi, is a rural town that boasts of many interesting religious monuments. In the earlier times this place was called as "Bhaskara Kshetra". There are many religious shrines like Chintala Venkataramana Temple, locally known as Chintalaraya Swami, Bugga Ramalingeshwara temple and Rameswara swami temple, of which the first two are well-known. The Chintala Venkataramana temple with its superior gopuram is situated in the heart of the town while the temple of Bugga Ramalingeshwara is at a distance of 1km from the town overlooking the Pennar river.
