Palace of Shakthan Thampuran

One of the landmarks of historical Perumpadappu Swaroopam, the Palace of Shakthan Thampuran (an erstwhile ruler hailed from Kochin Kingdom) in Thrissur is a major tourist attraction, especially for the tourists having special interest on history.

This famous palace is located very close to Vadakkumnatha Temple and was formerly known as Vadakkechira Kovilakam. It was Shakthan Thampuran who renovated it in its present form. The palace is very attractive. It was constructed in the Kerala and Dutch architectural style.

The prime structure of the palace is in Kerala style with high roofs and Nalukettu. The floors are laid with fine Italian marbles and the rooms are spacious with many attractive decorations.

Archeological Museum

Archeological Museum in Thrissur attracts thousands of people with its amazing praise worthy exhibits. It is located at the heart of the city in the Town Hall Road. The exhibits in this museum include valuable collection of murals and relics brought from various parts of Kerala.

Athirapally falls

Athirapally falls, a popular picnic spot, is located as a distance of 78 kms from the buzzing town of Cochin in Kerala. Boasting of being 80 ft in length, the waterfall is a haven for flora and fauna alike. This gushing waterfall finds its source from Chalakudy River.

Vazhachal Falls
